Subaru of America, Inc. takes great pride in not only selling high-quality cars, but also protecting the environment. The Subaru Eco-Friendly Dealer Program reduces Subaru dealers' carbon footprint in the daily business world. The program is specifically designed with Subaru dealerships and customers in mind.
We are proud to announce that our dealership has achieved Subaru Eco-Friendly Dealer status by meeting requirements in the five key areas: energy efficiency, water conservation, recycling, waste management and community involvement.
Our dealership reduced energy consumption by installing devices such as occupancy sensors, compact florescent light bulbs and programmable thermostats.
Our dealership reduced water consumption by installing low flow faucet & toilets and water efficient landscaping.
By recycling material such as paper, metal, cardboard and plastic, our dealership helps divert massive amounts of material from landfills.
Our dealership ensures proper disposal of waste material including oil, coolant, batteries and tires.
Caring about the environment extends beyond the dealership. We are involved in community programs focused on preserving and protecting the environment.
For our dealership to achieve Subaru Eco-Friendly Dealer status, we organized an environmental team comprised of individuals from each department. The team planned and implemented the necessary changes and upgrades to our facility.
In 2004, Subaru of Indiana became the first
manufacturing facility in the United States to reach zero-landfill status and
all Subaru vehicles are built in zero-landfill plants. 100% of manufacturing
waste is either recycled or turned into electricity. Subaru of Indiana is the
first and remains the only plant in the United States to be designated a
Backyard Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation.
